Friendly Api, a Gemini chatbot
A small Python chatbot that runs in the terminal and answers through Google's Gemini API. I wrote it as a beginner friendly lesson: the README explains what an API, an endpoint and an API key are, then walks through every line of the code.
Design challenge
Explain how an API works to someone who has never called one, using a restaurant waiter analogy and a program short enough to read in one sitting.
Engineering focus
The Google GenAI SDK, a simple chat loop, and keeping the API key out of the source code.
